For performance 3, Bruce and I wanted to express an assassination through the music produced where both of us represented a character. To express an assassination, I felt that it was appropriate to actually use knives to generate the adrenaline and actions of the assassin. Bruce, on the other hand, would use electricity to create breathing noises of the victim which gradually became lost in the assassination due to the power difference of the individuals themselves.
At first, we struggled with using the sounds, but found that interesting sounds could be created via feedback method. We felt that this strategy was strong and could be controlled through the knives which were another metal. Moreover, we also considered the visuals of the performance, hence we used red knives which signified bloody intentions. Because of the use of such materials, we contributed a more inclusive performance. We did receive feedback about the usage of knives and how we should be more destructive if we wanted to move towards a destructive route. In addition, the power difference was noted to be too strong. I personally believe that this is true and plan on changing my approach next performance.
