For this week’s listening and reading response, the focus was on the form sound can take. The listening homework documented how sound could be physically represented through bubbles while the reading showed how sound was not just something you can hear, it’s something you can feel through touch. This, of course, complements the argument that sound is not just a singular sense that can be felt, but also a physical impulse. When I looked at the listening, I found that it was quite similar to the paint on speaker videos where the vibrations of sound were visualized through paint. It was easy to understand, but I wonder if such visualization is too basic. The reading also mentioned the connection between vibration and sound as one and the same which I totally agree with due to past experience with percussion instruments.
