Prototyping Blog Documentation Week 7
For this week, I thought up and drawn up some concepts for storage solutions for the bike, which you can see here.
I noticed on the bike that the back section of it in particular has a lot of spaces that could be used for storage solutions. Previously I had suggested a pipe storage solution for the two side pipes of the bike, which you can see on the top left sketch. One of them would be able to stay in the pipe via a screw in system and the other could stay in via a suction system similar to tennis ball containers. The back also containers 3 additional accessible pipes that could be used for storage: one connected to the seat and the bottom two pipes that the seat is on.
Additionally, given the frame of back has a lot of space, I thought some kind of system with grips attached to the frame could also help in storage, like you can see in my sketch.
Moving on, I noticed from the side of the bike that there was quite a bit of room behind the seat, which gave me the idea of there being some kind of storage attacked to it. Thus, as you can see on the top right sketch, I had come up with a bag that can be attached to the back of the seat with some kind strap. I am not entirely sure of the sizing of the space, but from the pictures it looks quite spacious and so the bag would be quite big as well.
Lastly, similar to the back, I noticed that the bottom frame of the bikes had a lot of spacing as well, which could be used to fit storage as well. Thus, I came up with two small bags that could be attached in-between the spaces of the bottom of the bike frame. These bags would be attached via velcro or grip system like seen in the top left sketch in order to prevent them from falling off. It is also quite spacious above where the bags could be and so they could be quite high in height, about as high as motor is.
There is a lot of potential for the bike to contain many storage solutions on the back half of it alone without too much risk of them falling off of the bike while riding with the right attachments.
