The efficiency of AI, particularly in tasks involving cognitive processes, has significantly reduced the time required for human thinking. The Digital Times, a pioneer in this digital revolution, introduces ChatGPT, a remarkable product that exemplifies the capabilities of artificial intelligence.
With the advent of ChatGPT, humans have found a way to harness the power of AI to streamline their thought processes and optimize time utilization. The integration of this technology, however, comes with inherent risks and challenges that need careful consideration. In an effort to introduce ChatGPT to extraterrestrial beings, particularly the Hetapod, we aim to convey its operational logic through a visual representation that aligns with both human and alien cognitive structures.
Drawing inspiration from the novel “The Story of Your Life,” where human and alien languages operate on fundamentally different principles, we recognize the need for a unique approach. Humans process information step by step, following a logical order, while Hetapods present information in an entire page simultaneously. To bridge this linguistic gap, we propose an image that encapsulates multiple steps, illustrating the operational logic of ChatGPT.
The Natural Language Processing (NLP) process employed by ChatGPT involves several stages, including preprocessing, encoding or embedding, feeding to the model, obtaining results, decoding, and post-processing. When individuals encounter challenges, they turn to AI by inputting questions containing keywords. ChatGPT then translates the text into code, feeding this information to the model to derive more relevant definitions and explanations by comparing keywords and databases. The final step involves retranslating the code into a comprehensible human language, completing the complex process in just one to two seconds.
However, conveying this intricate process to the Hetapods, who operate outside the constraints of time, presents a unique challenge. The Hetapod’s instantaneous acquisition and transmission of information require a different approach. To address this, we have decided to visualize the steps following the human logic timeline. Subsequently, we combine and synthesize these steps into a single image, aligning with the interconnected nature of the Hetapod’s writing system.
The Hetapod’s writing system, where each element is interconnected and integral to the whole, mirrors the steps of ChatGPT’s operation. No element can be removed without redesigning the entire system. Therefore, we ensure that the isolated steps merge seamlessly to produce a mixed combination, capturing the essence of both human logic and Hetapod interconnectedness.
The introduction of ChatGPT serves as a testament to humanity’s ability to adapt, innovate, and bridge the gaps between disparate cognitive frameworks. As we continue to explore the frontiers of AI and communication, the exchange of ideas with beings beyond our planet becomes a fascinating and challenging endeavor.
