CONCLUSIONS:
My primary goal with “Locate the civilian” is to engage participants in the immersive experience of a rescue mission, fostering empathy and emotional investment in the challenges faced by rescue teams. By raising awareness about the critical nature of their work, I hope to underscore the importance of supporting and acknowledging their efforts. Furthermore, I aim to advocate for peace by highlighting the devastating consequences of conflicts and crises on human lives. By carefully designing the visual outcome and the storytelling. I think the project achieved the primary goals by providing users with an unique and stunning experience the idea of the project is clearly conveyed to the audience and overall they interacted with the project as designed. However, some stages of the process could be improved the most obvious problem is that the user are not very certain when they should start moving and turning the spotlight, this might be caused by the fact that in the first 20 seconds of the interaction the audience do not need to do anything but to watch the screen display and at the middle of the experience they are suddenly asked to start using the spotlight this sudden change might be a reason why they are taken aback, maybe more instructions and verbal hints should be added.
I think an important lesson from this is that we as designers of the project have to gain the ability to sink in the shoe of the tester, which is something hard, because we are clear how to interact and what will be the outcome, but this is not the case for the testers. Interaction is always between multiple subjects, to fully understand this concept we should focus on the communication pathway in the middle to have a comprehensive project.
