Christian Franke, Bad Habits, Ed Sheeran
Concept and Design
The concept of my design was driven by the upbeat and dancy nature of the music. Bad Habits is a very happy song which is why I decided to portray the scene of a party. I wanted to show both the happy and sad parts of a party, which is why there is a person who drank too much in the foreground. I think I could’ve done a better job of portraying gestalt theory, mainly by replacing some of the shape with letters. In my poster I decided to try and explore the theory of having prominent figures in the foreground.
Process
I decided to change the outline of the shapes that I used in the poster to be letters. After the mid-critique I completely changed my design, and instead of focusing on the content of the lyrics I wanted to show the more up beat and dancy nature of the sound of the song.
Conclusion
If I had more time I would’ve changed the poster to be more letter based and less reliant on lines. I also would’ve taken out the drunk guy in the front because he takes away from the rest of the poster.
