Diptych Concept
CONCEPT
The core concept of diptych art is the mutual connection and interaction between two images. It conveys artistic ideas and expresses artistic effects through comparison. In this diptych project of mine, I intend to use traditional twin-lens reflex cameras and Polaroid single-shot instant cameras as the subjects of the images. Unlike modern digital cameras, these cameras still rely on traditional chemical imaging, which requires more pre-shooting and composition consideration. This also represents a more fundamental form of photographic art. Through such a contrast, I aim to convey a sense of tracing back to origins and reverence.
PLAN
Planned images: shots for Polaroid and the twin-lens reflex; the film and the Polaroid film; the specific parts of the cameras; the arrangement of all the objects.
Planned procedure: Stitching and contrasting the details of various objects (cameras and film) to showcase the vintage camera’s posture and beauty in the same frame using Photoshop. Additionally, it enhances the artistic effect through color and shape contrasts. Considering composition and visual effects from the details to the whole.
