The first melody I made by Music Mouse is attached below. In this interface, I found that when I moved the mouse from low to high, the pitch of the melody I made changes from low to high. I also found that the velocity and tempo can be changed by moving sliders. For the articulation, I tried the three options it provides, I found the notes become quicker and the melody become lively, which is very interesting and we haven’t discussed in class. The restriction for this interface is that I can only choose three types of musical instruments and for MIDI, I failed to make sound out, which I have no clue about it.
The second melody I made by Apotome is attached below. In this interface, I can choose the pitch by myself according to the reference page. Then I can choose a division on the pitch I chose before, which is very free for users to design their own melody. Finally, I can decide which notes is played on which keyboard. I am interesting about the tuning system and I want to know what does “cents / ratio” mean on this page.
