Area of Internship: Teaching English to elementary school children

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours/week

Number of Interns: unlimited

Our organisation offers the possibility to be an intern or a volunteer on a position of a teacher-asistent in Prague elementary schools. Both in the face-to-face mode of teaching (for students present in Prague) and in the mode of distant teaching for students anywhere in the world.

The internship should last for at least 2 months.

Face-to-face teaching mode:
  • co-teaching English to very young learners in Prague elementary schools
  • up to 20 courses to either choose from or to work in all of them
  • preparing teaching materials (worksheets, videos, tests, presentations…)
  • analysing the lessons, evaluating, feedback
  • editing materials for students, website materials, proofreading etd.
Online (distant) teaching mode:
  • preparing teaching materials for online or face-to-face lessons (presentations, videos, tests, worksheets)
  • online presentations to the classes (children present in their classroom)
  • online conversations with students (one-to-one or one-to-two)
  • editing materials for students, website materials, proofreading etd.
  • email correspondence with students in English
  • evaluating students, providing feedback, analysing the lessons
  • implementing new teaching methods for online classes of English
For both modes we offer:
  • a unique opportunity to try teaching without any risk and responsibility – the main teacher is always present.
  • a possibility to work with young learners whose ability to speak English is very limited
  • an opportunity to see deatils of the Czech Republic school system
  • a closer contact with Czech students
  • a possibility to learn about the Czech culture, habits, traditions etc.
  • a flexible schedule – adjustable to the students’ time possibilities
  • a friendly and supportive team
  • an evaluation of the teaching performance, useful feedback from experienced teachers
  • a recommendation letter and a certificate

What is required? Enthusiasm, the will to spend your time with Czech children and a responsible approach.  Learn more about the internship at https://www.prague-elementary.com
