The Institute of Documentary Film (IDF) has been supporting creative documentary films from Central and Eastern Europe since 2001. The IDF provides both emerging and experienced filmmakers with training, financing, networking and pitching opportunities, helps them get international attention and co-productions, rewards the exceptional projects with awards and further opportunities and improves their orientation on the international market.

The Institute of Documentary Film organizes many film activities: masterclasses, panel discussions, interviews with documentary filmmakers and screenings at untraditional venues.

Event: East Doc Platform (March 22–28, 2024)

The largest co-production, funding and distribution platform tailor-made for Central and East European documentaries. Every year, we connect CEE filmmakers and decision makers – producers, broadcasters, distributors and festival programmers – from around the world. The 13th edition will take place during the One World human rights film festival.

Benefits of Internship

This internship is great for anyone interested in the documentary film industry or interested in human rights documentaries. Interns will get free accreditation to all events (films, discussions, parties) at the One World Festival – one of the largest human rights film festivals in Europe. They can participate in all of the presentations, round tables, discussions etc. At the EastDoc Platform, you will meet filmmakers from around the world. Food will be provided during the event (lunch, coffee breaks).

Internship positions

Social media editor – Create video content for the Instagram of the Institute of Documentary Film during the East Doc Platform (at workshops, film screenings, meetings, pitches, parties). Help with recordings of workshop lectures. Work under PR manager and coordinator of the Institute of Documentary Film.

Production Assistants – Assist with technical production and hospitality during the East Doc Platform (Ex Oriente Film workshop, masterclasses, film screenings, meetings, guests meet guests, pitches, parties). Work under production manager of the Institute of Documentary Film.
