Tip # 713 : Bageterie Boulevard
First and foremost, we would not be doing the NYU Prague experience justice if we didn’t discuss Bageterie Boulevard. Their concept is simple: It’s a Czech fast food chain that serves freshly made baguettes as well as other affordable items, like fries, soups, salads, and coffee. The service is efficient and friendly, and never fails to provide you fresh, tasty food in under five minutes (and that’s a promise, as guaranteed by the countdown clocks for each order). Bageterie Boulevard also has a loyalty program where every fifth baguette you buy is half priced! You can ask for a BB loyalty card at any location or create an account on their app (trust us, you will be going back).
Tip # 382 : Artic Bakehouse
While the 15 minute trek doesn’t make Artic Bakehouse the closest to campus, the journey will be well worth it. Founded by two Icelanders, the bakery specializes in sourdough bread and a wide assortment of pastries, among which are some traditional icelandic pastries and the best cream cheese frosted cinnamon rolls you’ll ever have. They also offer sandwiches on their housemade bread, and with all of them under 120 Kč, the price gives Bageterie Boulevard a run for its money.
Tip # 475 : Pasta Fresca
So you just got back from your weekend trip to Italy and are craving the taste of fresh, homemade pasta. Look no further than Pasta Fresca, just five minutes from NYU’s campus. As you walk into the dining room, you can watch your pasta being made before you choose from a selection of classic Italian dishes. With all mains at around 300 Kč and a great selection of wines (or an aperol spritz), it’s the perfect spot to treat yourself to an authentic tasting dinner after class while saving on flight fares.
Tip # 811 : The Dubliner
Wanting a taste of Ireland in Prague? Look no further than the Dubliner, Prague’s No 1. Irish pub. A five minute walk away from the campus, The Dubliner is a lively Irish pub with a downstairs pool room, live music, and massive TVs to watch sports on. The Dubliner is definitely on the louder, more hectic side, but is perfect for a night out with friends, full of Irish “craic”.
The Dubliner offers both traditional Irish and international cuisine, from burgers, salads, and steaks to shepherd’s pie and Irish beef stew. Pro tip: go there after class for dinner on a weekday to avoid weekend crowds, and once you’ve finished, head over to Agartha for some local jazz!
Tip # 264 : Las Adelitas
Tucked away beneath the streets of Male Namesti is a restaurant that brings some heat to Prague. Las Adelitas is the perfect place to go when you are craving Mexican food. The tacos are excellent, the salsa actually is spicy, and the margaritas come in lots of flavors. If you go at lunchtime, they have a day time menu which is less expensive and has a wide variety of dishes. On Wednesdays, you can go for a girl’s night and get half-off on margaritas.
Tip # 161 : Bakeshop
If you’re looking for the perfect place for a sweet treat or a warm hearty lunch look no further than Bakeshop. Less than a 10 minute walk from campus, Bakeshop is the perfect place to run to in between classes and has plenty of seating for studying. Their carrot cake lives up to the claim of being “world famous,” and their daily selection of soups and pastries are all great. It’s a favorite among the NYU Prague staff, and for good reason! Be sure to also try the cherry galette.
