Inventories
At the beginning of the semester, Building Managers will set up floor meetings with all students to discuss the practicalities of the dorm and to check the inventories of the rooms. These appointments are extremely
important, as they provide students with the opportunity to point out any maintenance problems or pre-arrival damages.
Maintenance and housekeeping
Students are responsible for the daily maintenance of their suites.
This includes:
- taking out garbage from rooms,
- laundering sheets and towels,
- cleaning the rooms,
- reporting maintenance issues by filling out a repairs and supplies poster, NOT on social media.
Do not leave full garbage bags lying around your room/apartment or in the hallways. Bags of garbage should be placed in the dumpsters. Please recycle!
Keys
Lost keys should be reported to the Building Manager and students will be charged for their replacement and any lock-changing costs. If keys are lost, student will be charged $30.
Care of Rooms/Apartments and Damages
Do not paint your room or put tape or other sticky substances on the walls. Tape and sticky tag tear the paint and plaster away from the walls, and you may be charged for damages. All repairs, painting and lock changing costs will be deducted equally from all residents of a suite or room unless particular individual(s) accept responsibility in writing.
Study Lounge and TV room
NYU Prague housing facilities contain study lounges with computer facilities and TV rooms. No smoking, alcohol, drugs or indecent behavior will be tolerated in either the study lounges or the TV rooms. Please be respectful of the furniture and other items in the lounges. Damages in lounges should be reported to the Building Manager immediately.
Room Entry
NYU reserves the right, at any time and for any reason at its sole discretion, to enter a room without prior notice to make repairs; to inspect for compliance with health, fire, or building codes or NYU policies or regulations, or because of any situation that NYU, in its sole discretion, deems to be a danger to health, safety, or property.
