Gynecology
If you need to seek medical attention related to female sexual health, you can make an appointment with a gynecologist at one of the Canadian Medical Care facilities or My Clinic. They will be able to help with routine checkups, prescriptions for contraception and consultations and referrals regarding sexual health, including pregnancy and abortion.
Urology
You can make an appointment with a urologist at CMC or My Clinic. Make sure to secure a guarantee of payment from GeoBlue after making your appointment.
Safer Sex Supplies
You can find free safer sex supplies in the dorms and you can also buy condoms and safer sex supplies at pharmacies, drug stores and some grocery stores.
Contraception
If you take any form of prescription contraception, we strongly advise to have your doctor at home prescribe it for the whole semester. If you need a prescription, you can make an appointment with a gynecologist at one of the clinics listed above.
Emergency Contraception
Over-the-counter emergency contraception (Postinor, Escapelle, Navela) can be bought in pharmacies. You can also get a prescription from a gynecologist.
STI Testing
You can get tested for STIs at either the gynecology or the urology department at one of the clinics listed above or on the non-emergency healthcare website. The tests are not free, so make sure to get a guarantee of payment from GeoBlue after making the appointment.
You can also get tested for HIV anonymously and free of charge at Dům Světla (Malého 282/3, Praha 8 – Karlín). You can fill out their pre-testing form online.
Sexual Assault
In an emergency? Call 112 (European emergency number).
When you are safe, call the staff on-call phone to get assistance. If you report the incident to the emergency services, they will assist you in getting medical attention.
Alternatively, you can go to a gynecology ambulance either in the Motol hospital or at the Apolinář hospital. Our staff is ready to assist you, please call the on-call phone number to get help or contact a member of staff in person. It is vital to seek medical attention as soon as possible.
