PAPER
You can recycle:
- sheets of paper
- magazines
- newspapers
- notebooks
- boxes (flat)
Items that don’t belong in the recycling paper bins:
- dirty or greasy paper (e.g. pizza boxes)
- egg cartons, milk or juice cartons
- used tissues
- sanitary products
- toilet paper rolls
PLASTIC
You can recycle
- plastic bags
- crushed plastic bottles (step on them)
- clean plastic packaging
Items that don’t belong in the recycling plastic bins:
- dirty or greasy plastic packaging (rinse first)
- styrofoam and other plastic foams
- rubber
- fabrics
- cables
GLASS
You can recycle
- clean glass bottles and containers
n.b. there are sometimes special containers for clear and stained (green or brown) glass
Items that don’t belong in the recycling glass bins:
- dirty or greasy glass containers
- ceramics or porcelain
- mirrors
- lightbulbs
JUICE AND MILK CARTONS
You can also find orange containers for juice and milk cartons in some streets. Please rinse, crush and flatten the cartons before throwing them in.
BATTERIES, LIGHTBULBS, ADAPTORS ETC.
Please do not throw any of these items into the general waste or recycling bins! Ask your building manager for instructions on what to do with these.
