Student ID Cards – ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW

Sometimes it is useful to have a student ID cards to get students discounts.

NYU student ID
- recognized only in the US
Charles University ID without ISIC license
- recognized only in the Czech Republic
- you can use it for Prague public transportation discount
- free of charge
- you have to apply for it in person at the UK Point
Charles University ID with ISIC license
- recognized in the Czech Republic and in Europe
- you can use it for Prague public transportation discount
- you cannot apply for it online, only in person at the UK Point
- for a fee (320 CZK)
- recommended to all students (except FAMU students)
ISIC not affiliated to Charles University
- recognized in the Czech Republic and in Europe
- you can apply for it online
- for a fee (400 CZK)
- you cannot use it for Prague public transportation discount

Important notes:

FAMU students must apply for ISIC only online
to get Prague Public Transportation discount – FAMU students need to submit a confirmation study provided by FAMU
if students get public transportation discount via ISIC, they need to have it on them when you using the public transportation
you can also download the ISIC app and leave the physical ID at home.

ISIC is the only globally recognized proof of student status for high schools, colleges and universities. ISIC is valid all over Europe.
