Description
A picturesque landscape protected area of rocks, beautiful lakes, and villages with folk architecture, Kokořínsko is famous for its deep tranquil forests, cultural monuments, such as Kokořín castle and numerous castle ruins, and unique sandstone formations that are not found in such a form and scope in any other region of the Czech Republic.
The biggest landmark of this area is the romantic Kokořín Castle, towering over the Kokořín Mine, the main valley of the Kokořín Region surrounded by many natural attractions. The most famous of them include Pokličky (Pot Lids), resembling overgrown mushrooms.
Any romantic soul will also be captivated by the view of the Harasov pond lined with rocks with reliefs, caves, and mysterious rock cellars. In case of rainy weather, we will visit the nearby medieval town of Mělník, RA Markéta’s hometown, and discover the local cultural and historical monuments such as Mělník castle, underground, and well.
