Intercultural Learning Fellow
Arushi Kaushik-Chandra

Arushi Kaushik-Chandra is a junior in NYU’s Vocal Performance program whose artistry and advocacy are deeply intertwined. As a South Asian woman studying the Western classical performing arts, she explores the intersection of her eastern and western identities. Prior to her time in Prague, she undertook studying the repertoire of Jewish Czech artists who composed music to cope with the cruelty of their internment in the concentration camp Theriesienstadt. Her investigation into these suppressed narratives of history culminated in The Ullmann Project, a grassroots initiative reviving the repertoire of Viktor Ullmann—work that was recognized with cultural grants from the Swedish government. She is equally passionate about the healing power of music, as a mental health aide and music class volunteer instructor for psychiatric institutions in Manhattan. In her free time, she enjoys reading shoujo manga and making yogurt parfaits.

Amelia Choi
Amelia Choi is a junior from Houston, Texas, studying Media, Culture, and Communication. In her studies, she is particularly interested in examining the role media
plays in the spaces people inhabit, as well as how sound shapes perceptions of memory, place, and time.
Between high school and college, Amelia spent a year as a Rotary exchange student in Alphen aan den Rijn, Netherlands, an experience that deepened her love for travel, cultural exchange, and meeting people from around the world. During her time there, she visited Prague for two days and immediately knew she wanted to return. Alongside her career interests in journalism, branding, and creative marketing, Amelia enjoys reading, scrapbooking, exploring coffee shops, and listening to live music. At NYU Prague, she is interning with NYU Prague Social Media, PragueCast, and Prague Blog.
