Beethoven: Violin Concerto
Tchaikovsky: Symphony 4
The soloist for Beethoven’s violin concerto is Josef Špaček, one of the most distinguished Czech violinist. He will be performing a version of the concerto with the not-so-often played cadenza written by Alfred Schnittke. Tchaikovsky’s fourth, dubbed the “fate” symphony is a quintessential Tchaikovsky – romantic, ferocious, melodic…and simply wonderful.
Venue: Municipal House – an Art Nouveau building finished in 1911 to represent the city of Prague – its interiors were decorated by the leading artists of the time – mosaics, sculptures, ironwork… this is a true architectural masterpiece.
