An absurd, melancholy play loosely based on Macbeth and performed in simple, rhythmic English. It takes place in a non-specific time that could be the past, present, or future. It questions whether we are returning to old models when “men were men”, “women were women”, and anyone who wanted power and money had to spill blood, or whether we are gazing into bleak future devoid of humanity. The show won the Czech critics’ award of 2017 and takes place at the charming Theatre on a Balustrade where Vaclav Havel worked as a playwright.
