NYU Prague Collection Ukraine
We have started a month-long initiative to help Ukrainian refugees in Prague.
Every week in April, we will bring baked goods (or other freshly cooked food) plus non-perishable food and hygienic products to the nonprofit organization Šatník. You can also donate any items that you will not be bringing back home with you at the end of the semester.
Šatník is a nonprofit started by a Czech journalist (and single mother) to support people in need. They have a distribution center very close to the Osadní dorm in Pražská tržnice for Ukrainian refugees; They would appreciate freshly cooked food for the Ukrainians who come there (often with their kids) to pick up clothing and other items.
NYU Prague students are welcome to come for the drop-off of food, which will take place on Wednesdays from 3-4:30 p.m. Sign up here if you want to come or if you plan to make something and we’ll send you more info.
You can either join the drop off in Šatník or bring baked goods or cooked food to RD between 10:30 am and 1:30 pm. You can also drop nonperishable food, hygienic items or clothes in the boxes in the dorm or the academic center – this will be delivered to Šatník.
