Can Music Change the World? Of course! We’re going to explore this question in the context of the history of the Czech people and the incredible variety of music this tiny country has produced. We’ll hear swing jazz produced in a Prague avant-garde theatre — in 1932! We’ll watch a chorus from the most popular Czech opera, devoted to the joys of beer. We’ll stand in rainy Wenceslas Square during the Velvet Revolution of 1989, hearing a protest song that had kept the underground alive for 21 years of repression. And more . . . hope to see you on Thursday!
