The highlight of this 15th year of the Public Reading of the Holocaust Victims Names – Yom ha-Shoah will be identity – of our towns and villages, communities and ourselves, everything what it is being created and influenced by.

As our identity is being influenced by a situation so far unexperienced, we were forced to decide that due to all the measures related to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemics, that this years Public Reading – Yom Hashoah 2020 will not be taking place in real public space of 28 cities that had joined the event this year.

The date remains. On April 21st 2020 a website will be opened, which would be accessible to all those interested in reading the names online in a live stream, between 2 and 5pm. In order to make the process smooth, we kindly ask you to register for the reading in advance at jomhasoa@terezinstudies.cz. Each participant will be then given detailed instructions how to proceed.

There will be a second option available as well – to join the names reading using the social networks. You can simply record a video where you would read the names and share it on our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/jomhasoa or on Twitter with a hashtag #ctujmenanajomhasoa.

The third option is to record a video or audio and send it to our e-mail jomhasoa@terezinstudies.cz. We will edit it and share ourselves.

Thus, despite the bad circumstances, we will again join all together to commemorate those who became the victims of the Nazi racial ideology during the Second World War.

More details to be found at our website www.terezinstudies.cz or at our Facebook page “Institut Terezínské iniciativy”.
