Pavla and Karolina teamed up, put their face masks on (because it is mandatory to wear those in the Czech Republic), and headed outside to give you a closer look on what everyday life in Prague looks like right now. This time, we chose to show you what is going on in the biggest Prague Parks – Letná and Stromovka.
Letná
That big park on the hill with the metronome 🙂
Letná, famous for beautiful views and great green lawns ideal for picnic is a little less busy these days, even though the spring is in full swing. Despite the situation, many people still take to exercising, running, roller skating or walking their dogs there. The big difference is that the space around the metronome and the great lawns, usually full of people sitting, having a drink or a picnic, are now all but abandoned. The space behind the metronome is still full of skaters though. Take a look:
Stromovka
The big park near Osadní behind Výstaviště.
Stromovka, also called Royal Game Reserve based on its historical purpose (don’t worry, there is no hunting going on anymore) is also much less busy even despite the sunny weather we’ve been having lately. The buildings of Výstaviště (Exposition hall) and the Planetarium are both closed, and so are the numerous playgrounds for children scattered around the park, so most of the visitors of the park are lone joggers and people walking their dogs.
We hope you enjoyed our little report and that it brought you back to Prague at least in spirit. As you can see, Prague streets are emptier as usual, but people still take to parks occasionally and are staying positive. We will try to bring more articles and photos from Prague – make sure to let us know if there’s anything in particular that you would like to see.
