Oct 25: The Plastic People Of The Universe Concert
The Plastic People of the Universe (PPU) is a Czech rock band. It was the foremost representative of Prague’s underground culture (1968–1989), which had gone against the grain of Czechoslovakia’s Communist regime. Due to their non-conformism, members of the band often suffered serious repercussions such as arrests. The group continues to perform despite the death of its founder, main composer and bassist, Milan “Mejla” Hlavsa in 2001.

Until Oct 28: Helmut Newton in Dialogue – Fashion and Fiction
The exhibition Helmut Newton in Dialogue exhibits photographs by the famous German-Australian photographer Helmut Newton and puts them in the context of interwar photography and compares them with the work of his contemporaries. Newton has shifted the meaning and role of fashion and portrait photography to more general values and expressions, changing their image forever. Working for its Australian, British and French editions for 23 years, he has become famous mainly for his photographs for Vogue magazine. In addition to fashion models, Newton also photographed famous personalities of the world of art and fashion. For example, his portraits of Karl Lagerfeld, Andy Warhol, Sigourney Weaver and Paloma Picasso are well known.

Until Dec 1: Alberto Giacometti’s Exhibition
The retrospective will present the works by one of the major 20th-century artists, sculptor and painter Alberto Giacometti (1901–1966) for the first time in the Czech milieu. His main theme was the human figure. He became well-known for compelling elongated figures done after World War II, but no less important are his artworks from the interwar period, when he was a key member of the Paris avant-garde. The selection of the exhibits from its collections, which will be shown in the Trade Fair Palace, includes more than one hundred sculptures (including rare originals of plaster), paintings and drawings from all Giacometti’s creative periods, from the 1920s to 1960s.
