Alena

“Hello, my name is Alena and I am very happy to share the story of my ‘colorful & international’ life with you. Being a half Vietnamese and Roma girl born and living in
Prague, Czech Republic is very exciting, but also challenging at the same time. I was studying diplomacy, international relations and security at Nottingham Trent University in United Kingdom and International relations and EU studies at Metropolitan University in Prague. Currently I am working for security department (counter-terrorism and counter-extremism security) at Jewish Community in Prague. I am looking forward to sharing more with you all and also I am looking forward for all your questions!”

Adrian

I am studying Control Engineering at Czech Technical University. I arrived in Czech Republic directly after my Bachelor studies in India after securing a job offer directly
in India. I would like to detail my experiences in these six years of living in CZ and point out some of the differences between Olomouc (where I lived before) and Prague (where I currently live). Besides, I’d like to share some interesting habits of Czech people, which I, as a foreigner find fascinating with the language, culture, and lifestyle. And how I, as a foreigner have been able to fit into the Czech society, also with some of the positive and negative experiences that I have had.

Denisa

Love&Cool (money & in Romani language) In Europe there live about 12 million Roma (Gypsies). In the Czech Republic about 250.000. They are the biggest ethnic minority in Europe. Let me share with you my experiences as a Roma living in Czechia. I’d like to tell you my struggles due to prejudices and my life philosophy of advantage being diverse.

Oumar

My name is Oumar Barry and I am a Guinean living in Prague. I have been here for 2 years and I learned to speak Czech. I am working at a technology company. I left my country due to political unrest and had a long journey to Europe. I like American  basketball and hip hop and I hope to visit America someday.

Lubor

My life could be divided into 4 chapters. First chapter would be when I arrived to Czech Republic with my mom and my cousin into a country with every aspects so much different from country of mine. With no absolute knowledge of language, culture and…mainly no friends. Second would be when I became a star of my elementary school with full attention of everybody around but my parents and then the downfall and the family crisis during the year of maturity on high school. Third was when I started to fulfill a dream of mine from high school while being in college and met a girl that I thought would be “the last”. The last chapter is what drive me to who I am today – father, businessman – producer of gift wrapping paper, consultant on Vietnamese culture, social worker, translator … – would be the result of all that past and form me.

Fipah

Hi, I’m Fipah, I am an agender person – this means I do not identify as a woman, nor as a man, nor as someone between these two genders. I feel I am without a gender, at least in the sense of the woman/man dichotomy. I am just a person, a human being, I am I, myself. I am a chemistry graduate passionate about science, cosmetics, the
environment, the singer Lorde, swimming, pastel colours and watercolour paintings. I love food and cooking!
