Music Lives at NYU: World Jazz Trio Concert

Wednesday, Feb 12, 5:50 pm

As the first concert of the Music Lives at NYU! series, NYU professor Tony Ackerman will play with his world jazz trio in the intimate Agharta Jazz Club, just five minutes’ walk from Male namesti. Tony plays a special 7-string guitar with his two partners, Czech jazz-rock legend Martin Kratochvil on piano, and Imram Musa Zangi on a unique percussion set that includes ethnic instruments from all over the world. The trio has played on the Czech scene for over 30 years and recorded 10 albums. In this and all the future Music Lives events, the music will be combined with discussion and questions from students. The event is free and open to all NYU students and staff. Meet in front of the Blue Building at 5:50 p.m. on Wednesday to go to the club. The concert/talk will be over by 7:30.
