About Us
The NYU Intergenerational Home Share Program is supported by researchers in gerontology, intergenerational programming, as well as administrators at New York University who are working to achieve goals of affordability for students and older adults.
Over the last few years, a research team at New York University, housed in the Silver School of Social Work, has partnered with the New York Foundation for Senior Citizens, which is a non-profit that provides services for older adults and supports them in aging in place as long as possible. One of the programs that the NYFSC provides is a home sharing initiative, which requires at least one adult in the home to be 60 years of age or older.
This program has been supported by the Fan Fox and Leslie R. Samuels Foundation, AARP Foundation, NYU’s President’s Office under the Affordability Initiative,
NYU’s Silver School of Social Work, and private donors.
