GSAS MASTER’S COLLEGE
The Graduate School of Arts and Science’s Master’s College provides access to information, advisement, and resources for prospective and current master’s students as they focus on their scholarly, professional, and personal development. Founded by Dean Emeritus Catherine R. Stimpson in 2007, the Master’s College is an innovative initiative in higher education which demonstrates their commitment and dedication to master’s education and students. They work with NYU campus-wide offices and GSAS academic departments and programs to provide the highest quality master’s education. They host a variety of academic events, including thesis competitions, career-planning seminars, and grant-writing workshops. The Master’s College also plans social events to give students a chance to meet colleagues from other departments in a convivial and welcoming atmosphere.
The Master’s College recruits students to participate on the Master’s College Program Board, a group of current master’s students from diverse backgrounds who create, plan, and host events for their fellow students. Its mission is to enhance the educational experience of GSAS master’s students by providing activities that build a sense of unity across the NYU community.
OFFICE OF FINANCIAL EDUCATION
The Office of Financial Education offers coaching appointments and information on public service loan forgiveness programs. They also offer iGrad, a suite of interactive tools designed to provide knowledge on a variety of topics including budgeting, financial aid, banking, investing, and more.
WELLNESS EXCHANGE
NYU’s Health and Wellness programs include the Wellness Exchange, which provides hotline, drop in, and text- or email-based options to access mental health counselors. These counselors are available to talk about any day-to-day challenges or health concerns, including medical issues, stress, depression, sexual assault, anxiety, alcohol or drug dependence, and eating disorders.
WASSERMAN CENTER FOR CAREER DEVELOPMENT
Whether you have no idea what you want to do after graduation or you know exactly what you want to do, the Wasserman Center for Career Development is there to support you in your journey.
The Graduate Student Career Development Team at the Wasserman Center provides specialized career coaching, events, and resources to meet the needs of current and recent NYU master’s, doctoral, and advanced certificate students. Whether you are looking to explore new possibilities, prepare for specific roles, or consider how to advance in their career, the Graduate Team is available to partner with grads in the process.
DIGITAL HUMANITIES
NYU has an engaged and growing Digital Humanities community that brings together students and faculty working on a variety of projects in digital scholarship and humanities outreach. The university offers practical and technical support for student digital and media projects via classes and one-on-one guidance through Digital Scholarship Services, Digital Studio, and Data Services.
NYU’s Center for the Humanities presents a range of public programs each semester on humanities topics and themes.
NYU Libraries and Special Collections
The NYU Libraries provide students with access to extensive printed, archival, and digital collections. The Special Collections Center provides opportunities for both research and part-time employment to students.
