The NYU Department of History has a strong record of placing MA program graduates in careers in academia and the public and private sectors. Students from both the MAH and APH programs have been accepted into a number of PhD programs including, since 2021, Johns Hopkins, Princeton, Rutgers, St Andrews (UK), USC, and Yale, while others have been hired at the following institutions:
