The New York University China Research Network (NYUCN) is a community of social science faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students at New York University (Washington Square) with a shared interest in research on contemporary China. Leveraging NYU’s global network and the strategic location of NYU Shanghai, the NYUCN connects faculty and students from NYU’s Arts and Science, NYU Shanghai, other NYU schools, and scholars across Greater New York City.
This informal research network was initiated and is currently coordinated by Prof. Xiaogang Wu, who holds a joint appointment at NYU Faculty of Arts and Science and NYU Shanghai as Yufeng Global Professor of Social Science and Professor of Sociology. Through its China Speaker Series, workshops, collaborative projects, and publications, the NYUCN aims to foster a cohesive community dedicated to interdisciplinary research on China’s societal, economic, political, and cultural landscapes.
NYUCN events are supported administratively by the NYU Shanghai Provost’s Office in New York (14 East 4th Street, 3rd Fl, New York, NY 10012).
