Established in 2023, the New York University China Research Network (NYUCN) is a pioneering initiative that seeks to deepen and expand our understanding of contemporary China. Leveraging NYU’s global network and the strategic location of NYU Shanghai in China, the NYUCN is poised to become a premier intellectual community, focused on interdisciplinary and path-breaking research into China’s societal, economic, political, and cultural landscapes.
Led by the NYU Shanghai Provost’s Office in New York, the NYUCN brings together faculty and students from NYU’s Arts and Science, NYU Shanghai, other NYU schools, and scholars from various institutions in Greater New York City. Our objective is to bridge knowledge gaps and foster connections that transcend both geographical and disciplinary barriers.
The NYUCN is dedicated to generating innovative research and providing advanced training for graduate students. Through our collaborative projects, publications, workshops in (New York and Shanghai), and China Speaker Series, we aim to disseminate knowledge broadly, influencing academic discourse, informing public policy, and contributing to a more nuanced global understanding of China.
