Students in the Art and Ideas: What is Social Practice Art? class created visual diagrams mapping out the question: What can artistic activism do? Visual diagrams provide a way of understanding ideas and concepts in a relational manner. As a way of thinking it is an artistic strategy that makes invisible forces visible and are central to many artistic traditions across the globe. Using text and images, including quotes from class readings and images from socially engaged projects, students displayed ideas and concepts from the course to provide an understanding of artistic activism’s strategies.
