In the Spring of 2020 the world experienced the disorienting reality of the global Coronavirus pandemic. Like the rest of NYU classes, the Visionary Studios: Saturday Workshop program moved online.
56 New York City high school students signed up to participate in classes exploring four themes: Design Beyond the Binary, The Art of Appropriation, Identity in the Digital Age, and Reimagining NYC.
Art+Education emerging teachers wrote the 6-week curriculum for each class and curated an online exhibition representing each high school student’s work and class explorations.
The final exhibition represents the wide range of media explored, and the creative ingenuity possible during times of unprecedented social constraints.
