The heightened social and political landscape in the United States and across the world in the Fall of 2016 inspired students to focus on themes of democracy, racial justice, the gender binary, and technology for Visionary Studio: Saturday Workshop classes. Sessions took place over 9 weeks starting in October and ending in December 2016.
A final exhibition and reception, Freedoms Exhibition, took place on Sunday, December 18 in the Commons Gallery located in the Department of Art and Art Professions at NYU. Participating high school students, their friends, families, and teachers as well as NYU faculty and staff celebrated the work that students produced over the course of the program.
