How can contemporary artistic practices and collective research methods create new knowledge – and action – in classrooms, schools and communities?
Research and Final Project in Art+Education is a combined class that investigates how contemporary artistic practices can inspire forms of creative and critical inquiry. Students work collaboratively to investigate social issues and questions related to education, teaching, and art. The class considers the following questions: What does artistic practice as radical research look like? What can we learn from socially engaged artists and apply to our work as artist educators, researchers, and activists?
