Throughout this unit students will explore the human body as a site for multiple constructed meanings such as the social, the biological and the emotional. These ideas will be explored in relation to how they impact our understanding of identity in various ways such as: individually, biologically and socially and culturally and more specifically in relation to the body itself. In contemporary society we are able to create and recreate ourselves in a multitude of various ways either through surgery, dress, location and naming, etc and we can practice and participate in this exploration either and/orboth publcally and privately.
