I was never really a fan of comics, but reading this book has definitely aroused my interest. I have always thought of comics as a somewhat childish form of art, but now I see it can also be a delicate, complex, and an intriguing form of art. By introducing the elements of a comic, within a comic, the author cleverly demonstrates how comics use sequential pictures and words to invoke emotions in the reader. I think reading this book is an inspiring and helpful experience as an IMA student because it offers a new way to communicate our feelings and thoughts with others. It also offers guidelines and inspirations for the interactive comic program that we are going to do. It amazes me how sometimes the simplest form can convey the most complex ideas by invoking more imaginaries and intense emotions in the viewer. I am looking forward to finishing the comic and explore more about the form of expression.
