For the audio project, our five objections are:
Plot: No Human
Space: Forest
Shooting: Always shoot through a mirror
Editing: Every cut needs to be exactly X seconds
Interaction: Only mousemove
We looked through our objections and got a general impression of a dreamy, alien scene. One thing we noticed is that our restrictions are perfect to create repeativity. Forest can be interpreted as anything that accumulates to a huge amout, and mirror is the perfect tool to use to create repeatitive images. Using mirrors, we can create a forest of light, of sticks, of phones, of almost anything. The plot involves no human, so we can use symbols to make a symbolic, abstract, artistic kind of atmosphere, and we may approach this as some sort of dream that somehow reflects a certain aspect or problem of our reality. The editing method: the same length of cuts is also useful to create this feeling of chapters, repetitions. Overall it is really a cool idea for me to be able to do this project, and I am really excited for it to begin.
Some possible ideas for plot:
- a series of short dream scenes reflecting pressure from real life
- an eerie mirror world that is just getting creepier and at last the mirror breaks
Some possible ideas for shooting:
- shoot in a box made of mirror to create the phantoscope effect
- shoot through mirror but replace the reflection with something different than the real reflection
