Interaction Day

During the Interaction Day in class, the main theme amongst the feedback received is to provide the user of our interactive comic more guidance in terms of navigation. In our interactive lab, there are a lot of elements, since we had a lot of clues for our user to click on, so it is very easy to miss an element. The other concern of our project is to have a different way of displaying a pop up after clicking on an element. Right now, whenever the user clicks on an element, the clue or description that goes with it will be displayed in a pop-up window, and that is very tiring and frustrating for the user because they have to readjust their focus constantly (looking up and down) because the item that they clicked on might be on the bottom of the page, and then they will have to look up to read the pop-up window. Additionally, the pop-up window is just not a very aesthetically pleasing item to incorporate into our interactive comic.

Revision Plan

I am very grateful for all the feedback that we received today. As a result, my partner and I will be revising this project over the weekend. Our first plan of action is to remove the pop-up boxes on the top of the page and change them into rectangular boxes that appear directly next to the element that the user will click on.

Our second plan of action is to create more prominent buttons and numbers to guide our users into going into a more clear sequence. Originally, we had the idea of having a webpage full of pictures but only one picture will be lit at a time, but the users during the interactive day today told us that they would prefer to have more clear guides, even if it interferes with the theme of the project and stands out too much.

My partner and I are excited to show you all our newly revised project during next week’s presentation.
