A memory I would like to pick for my soundscape project is that of a rainy day once had with a friend. It was a very serene day, we were just walking in the rain together. It was cold… but inside it felt warm when I was with them. It was so overcast the afternoon as a gray dark, but the warm glow of the orange lights on campus made it feel homey. There was not a thing that could go wrong. We traversed the concrete arrangement of stairs and buildings on campus, most of the time walking in silence. Perhaps I was just infatuated with them at the time, but that somehow just makes the memory a little more sweet. The rain, although dark, made glistening puddles on the ground. In the distance, I remember seeing the cityscape and the downtown Honolulu skyline. I could see the cars, miniatures from this distance, rolling about on the freeway. Some were stopped at intersections, and the green light from the traffic lights pierced the gray. I then remember giving them a hug, and them giving me a hug back. Even more warm it became! Then we went back into the robotics building and went on to continue the project we had left to go on a walk. There was definitely more commotion than outside; people were manically busy. Outside was a silent joy.
