MaSC is seeking to appoint a Post-Doctoral Associate. The purpose of this position is to continue working on data-driven approaches for Carnatic rhythm generation applications using machine learning, pattern recognition and visualization techniques. The successful candidate will also be involved in the computational analysis and retrieval of large-scale non-western music corpus mainly from the Arab Mashriq and East Africa region and will work on the investigation of rhythm complexity and similarity in non-western music traditions using both symbolic/acoustic representations, statistical modeling and perceptual responses.
