I am licensed speech-language pathologist who received a PhD in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from New York University under the supervision of Dr. Adam Buchwald. I currently work as an Assistant Professor at CUNY Queens College in the Department of Linguistics and Communication Disorders. Working as a clinician treating people with acquired communication deficits sparked my interest to learn more about how language is influenced by other cognitive abilities and to research techniques to aid recovery when these processes breakdown.
My research investigates how individual variations in cognitive abilities, such as inhibition and memory, influence language processing and production in healthy adults. I also explore how variation in cognitive skills impacts language recovery after brain damage and how to combine behavioral treatments with neurobiological interventions, such as transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), to enhance treatment efficacy.
