Guidelines for Submission to Thinking Global, Teaching Local

Length of Post: anywhere between approximately 400 and 1500 words

Audience: write as you would in discussing pedagogical matters with colleagues in your disciplinary field (broadly interpreted) from other schools or universities.  You might especially consider the needs of newly-minted PhDs or MFAs, who rarely receive much formal training in pedagogy.  You may need briefly to set the context of your curriculum, but should not focus on curriculum per se – the blog’s purpose is to share ideas about pedagogy, particularly ways to expand instruction beyond the traditional Western canon of texts and concerns.  Accounts of innovative practices that involve technology, learning outside the classroom, etc. are also welcome, but a global flavor is preferred.

Tags: feel free to suggest a few tags for your piece, but to maintain consistency final tags for the post will be set by the blog’s moderators.

Multimedia material and Links: both are welcome; neither are required.  Moderators may assign a header image for the post if you do not choose to supply one.

Compliance Issues: the moderators will review posts and alert you if they see anything that may violate FERPA or copyright law, but it is your responsibility to keep in compliance with those regulations.  See http://www.nyu.edu/about/policies-guidelines-compliance/policies-and-guidelines/FERPA.html for information on FERPA and http://www.nyu.edu/footer/copyright-and-fair-use.html for information on copyright and fair use.

Format: you may submit your post in any standard document form (Word or Google docs); no pdfs or html pages, please.

Address: posts should be sent to lsedtech@nyu.edu.  Submission, of course, does not guarantee acceptance.
