This week, my faculty colleague Kathy Bishop was named one of the 300 best college professors in the U.S. in a new Princeton Review publication and web site. I’m delighted for Kathy, not only because she deserves recognition for her extraordinary dedication to her students, but because some of her reflected glory highlights all of the equally dedicated Liberal Studies faculty.
My late father-in-law often used to say, “SPS,” which was shorthand for “self-praise stinks.”. So before I say more, let me make it clear that I can and do not take credit for the praise I’m about to utter. I am every day in awe of the talent, knowledge, energy, and sheer delight in student achievement that our faculty bring into the classroom. If I’m shameless in singing their praises, it’s no less than they deserve.
