Counter-pandemic logistics optimization
Human society has witnessed the immeasurable lost caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which raises the need for governments to build up their capabilities in handling massive public health crisis. To provide scientific guidance for the policymakers to design counter-pandemic measures, we have extensively worked on the optimization of counter-pandemic logistics. For example, to enhance the sustainability of testing programs, we proposed a two-stage modeling framework to optimize the deployment and operation plan for Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) sample collection booths (SCBs) considering the test demand uncertainty and citizens’ decentralized SCB choice. We also make efforts to boost the robustness of quarantine systems by investigating the problem of room assignment and facility location emerging in the design of quarantine systems.
