Exercise

In the exercise this week, we learned how to use kangaroo to help us calculate the correct position for the circle (‘s center). 

It could mainly divided into two part. The first part is how to cooperate with kangaroo to replace the random points as circles’ center. The second part is to make sure these circles are projected or placed on the surface we have. For the second part, we use “Surface Closest Point” to get the UV value of the points and give this information to the circle. And if we’d like to locate sphere according to the points, we can internalize the data from the “point” to another empty “point” (which is not connected with another other functions and values yet). It is like when it comes to coding, we give the value of one variable to another empty variable (or “box”). For me the process to convert xyz position to uv is fascinating!

For the final project:
1. dataset for “Number of U.S. adults who received mental health treatment or counseling in the past year from 2002 to 2021”
Because of some academic and life reasons, I also started counseling to adjust myself during this semester. After gradually adapting to the weekly help of counseling, I began to realize that many people actually have a kind of fear or resistance to this aspect of physical therapy, which prevents timely treatment and prolongs the time they suffer.
In my opinion, I hope that through this project, people will realize that this is an opportunity for them to take the initiative to mend their wounds and seek outside help. Instead of being shameful.
The two red lines actually symbolize the fresh blood in their veins, as they are actively mending their wounds, in order to get healthier and live better. The data will be represented by the tightness of the mending and the distance of the stitches.
 
After reading “The media is the message”, I was pretty impressed by its saying that impact of any technology or medium on society is more about the changes it introduces rather than its specific content. Even though light bulbs don’t convey information, their impact on people’s lives extends through factors such as the duration of illumination, light intensity, color, and energy consumption. Light serves as a media, and the meaning of light also contributes to the meaning of the whole things the “light” wants to convey.
For my 3D printing model, the concept of 3D printing and the physical attributes of the heart serve as the medium. 3D printing make this project accessable to everyone, while the heart model highlights the field we are going to talk about. I also plan to have communication beyond the forms, by depicting a vivid and freshly wounded injury, I aim for the audience to realize the urgency of seeking psychological therapy for mental well-being. When people see flowing blood, they become aware of the harm caused by psychological trauma and the urgency of seeking treatment.

The severity of the wounds represents the number of children sub-persecuted in different regions, and the bear can be determined by the names of the different regions on his clothes when he puts them on
