The NYU Libraries Thank You Program

Library employees work hard and help one another out in countless ways, but those acts of kindness or conscientiousness often go unacknowledged. We invite you to use the program to send a “thank you” message to your coworkers in recognition of actions that have made a difference to you as an individual employee or to a library unit. When you send your message, you are encouraged to fill out this form.

7 things to know about the Thank You program:

  1. It’s easy to recognize a colleague! All you have to do is send them a message of thanks by filling out this form.
  2. Student employees can send and receive a Thank You.
  3. Faculty members and adjunct employees can also send and receive a Thank You.
  4. You can thank colleagues from another department in the Division of Libraries.
  5. Thank You Recipients are then entered into a bi-monthly raffle where three individuals are randomly selected to win movie tickets or a book from the NYU Bookstore.  
  6. Department Managers receive a bi-monthly report of everyone in their department who has received a Thank You, so that the individual can also receive verbal recognition.
  7. By recognizing a colleague through the program, your colleague has the opportunity for three levels of acknowledgement:
    • They receive your message of thanks
    • They can receive a prize of movie tickets or a book through the bi-monthly Thank You Raffle
    • Your nominee’s supervisor or department manager can verbally acknowledge their efforts

Eligibility Info

All Division of Libraries staff, administrators, faculty, adjunct faculty, assistant research scholars, student employees, casual employees, and contract employees are encouraged to send and are eligible to receive messages of appreciation. NYU employees outside the Division of Libraries are also eligible to send messages of appreciation.

Other Details

Thank-you message recipients will earn one raffle chance for each thank you message they receive in a bi-monthly raffle conducted by Human Resources. Utilizing a randomizer application, HR will select three winners every other month and the results of the raffle will be announced publicly. Raffle winners will receive their choice of movie tickets or a book from the NYU Bookstore. Per IRS regulations, each staff member is eligible to win only once in each calendar year.
