New Databases: October 2018

The NYU Libraries regularly acquires new databases. Take a look at the new database we added to our collection in October 2018

  • American Indian Newspapers includes historic pressings to contemporary periodicals, covering nearly 200 years of Indigenous print journalism from the US and Canada. With newspapers representing a variety in publisher, audience and era, users can research how events were reported by and for Indigenous communities.
  • Die Musik in Geschichte und Gegenwart (MGG) is a general encyclopedia of music offering in-depth articles on music as well as many related areas such as literature, philosophy, and visual arts. MGG Online contains the second print edition of MGG, published from 1994 to 2008, as well as current, continuous online updates and additions.
  • The Kotobarabia Modern Arab Renaissance Collection is an archive of books published 1820-1914 from Egypt, Syria, and other regions of the Islamic World. The collection is comprised of over 2,500 titles in the humanities and the sciences, including writings from Mahmoud Abdo, Gamal El Din El Afgahany and Rashid Reda. Consisting mostly of historic texts, the books in this collection are full-image, with searchable metadata only.
  • Revolution and Protest Online examine how revolutions, protests, resistance, and social movements have shaped and transformed the human experience globally from the 18th to 21st century.
