CogSciDIY: Language Science, Citizen Science project
In collaboration with Dr. Laura Wagner at Ohio State University, we do research studies where all of the decisions are made by the public! Visitors to our website decide what research question to study and what experimental design to use while learning about the scientific process. Here’s one of our promo videos:
To learn more and find language science resources for teachers, check out this article produced by Futurum Careers, a free online resource and magazine aimed at encouraging 14-19-year-olds worldwide to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine (STEM), and social sciences, humanities and the arts for people and the economy (SHAPE). www.futurumcareers.com
Expert talks
Dr. Arunachalam and other team members give free lectures and workshops for parents on topics including: how to raise a multilingual child, promoting literacy in the preschool years, milestones to watch for in language development, and language and autism. She’s worked with schools and community organizations including Sarah Powell Huntington House, Mom Crew, New Amsterdam School, Imagine Early Learning Centers, and La Petite Ecole.
