Narrative and Storytelling

In our most recent class, we learned about digital storytelling as a tool for learning. One of the examples shared with us was an illustrated video where the main character felt out of place because of his large head (pointy, actually) but with the help of a friend, some research, and standard distribution he learns that he isn’t so out of place after all. I thought the video was a great combination of storytelling, statistics, and presenting information visually.

Although we were asked to reflect this week on the potential of narrative and digital storytelling to support learning, I really wanted to focus on storytelling as a whole because I think it’s something that can transcend media. We could write a reflection or record our response, but I knew the only way I could share my thoughts was through my own story.
