When I thought about two different but related items in one image, the creation of Adam by Michelangelo bumped into my head. To create my own diptych, I chose to focus on their hands which form a very intriguing tension.
I want to collect “fingerprints” of nature and put them together to be a hand. So I went out to find places with wrinkles: I found nature with soft lines and artificial work with straight lines, both of which, I believe, can be a part of the hand brought life by God. They look ugly now but I will try to apply them in a better way.
The first two photos are taken to collect the other hand. I want to find a wrinkled hand to form a similar pattern with the “nature hand”, so I asked to take a photo of the hand of a environmental sanitation worker on the roadside and he generously “lent me a hand”.
